CERTIFICATION OF REAL ESTATE PURCHASE PRICE

Effective April 23, 2007, as per Oklahoma Tax Commission Rule No. 710:30-1-10 and 68 O.S. Section 3201, documentary stamps will no longer be issued by the Ottawa County Clerk's Office without documentation which "correctly discloses the value of the property".  The total value of the consideration paid can be determined by attaching a real estate purchase contract, closing statement, bill of sale, or the "Affidavit" we have provided for your convenience.  Please note:  the verification of purchase price will not be subject to filing fees.  Without acceptable proof, documents cannot and will not be accepted for recording.

If a taxpayer claims exemption from the payment of the documentary stamp tax, the reason for claiming an exemption must be noted on the face of the document.
